Weymouth's financial troubles worsen

Weymouth's scheme to sell shares to raise money for the financially challenged Conference Premier outfit went fairly well, but unfortuantely not well enough to enable them to hold onto their senior playing staff.

The South coast outfit fielded a mainly under 18's side in Saturday's home match against Rushden & Diamonds and immediately paid the price with a 9-0 hammering. Whether or not the club will be able to continue in the Conference or indeed at any level remains to be seen.
