Unibond regular season ends in chaotic shambles

The Unibond League was thrown into chaos following the revelation that Spennymoor Utd would be unable to fulfil their remaining league fixtures. The initial result was the usual course of action that happens in this situation, that their record was expunged and the table adjusted accordingly.

However, some of the affected clubs lodged an appeal to the FA and in their great wisdom the FA then reversed the League's decision, reinstating Spennymoors record and giving three points to each team that were yet to play them.

That led to the initial champions Farsley Celtic being dropped to third place as Hyde Utd took over at the top and Burscough dropped out of the play-offs after Prescot Cables were awarded six points (because they hadn't played Spennymoor at all).

The two affected clubs immediately took their case to the high court, but this time the FAs decision was upheld and the play-offs can now finally go ahead to decide who joins 'new' champions' Hyde Utd in being promoted.
