September 8, 2009—
Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper's name was linked to the vacant manager's post at Lincoln City during an interview with Lincoln vice-chairman Bob Dorrian on BBC Radio. "Cooper's under contract at Kettering but fits the criteria of the type of manager we'd like to recruit. We're looking for someone who will take the club by the scruff of the neck and bring it success" added Dorrian.
Cooper commented; "It's flattering, but I've heard nothing yet and we have a game against Gateshead on Tuesday to prepare for. If I go, it's not going to be to just any club," added Cooper. "It would have to the right club for me and my family." Former Cambridge boss Gary Brabin is also in the frame to succeed Peter Jackson at the Imps.
