June 12, 2009—
The speculation could well be finally over following the club's official announcement; "Kettering Town Football Club can today confirm its intention to move to a new, purpose built stadium at the Kettering Business Park situated on the A43/A6003 for the 2011/12 season."
One major hurdle still to be overcome is of course planning permission, which as any long-time Poppies fan will know has been notoriously difficult if not downright impossible to bring to the table in the past. This time around however, club Chairman Imraan Ladak believes he has the right proposal prepared to put before the local planning committee.
"Whilst our plans will of course be subject to a successful planning application, these are very exciting times for Kettering Town. After the extensive process of selecting a partner, matters have progressed very quickly and I am certain everyone will be as thrilled as we are when they see the plans - which we expect will be in the not too distant future.
