Poppies win 3-1 against Redditch
Kettering Town 3
Marna 24
Howe 37
Boucaud 41
Redditch Utd 1
McKie og 33
It was back to league action again for Kettering Town following last Saturday's somewhat welcome distraction in the FA Trophy.
The home side got off to a great start when Jean-Paul Marna put them 1-0 up on 24 minutes, but an own goal which went in off Marcel McKie allowed the visitors to get back on level terms after 33 minutes. Order was restored for the Poppies just 4 minutes later when Rene Howe put his side 2-1 up and shortly before half-time Kettering increased their lead to 3-1 when Andre Boucaud found the net on 41 minutes.
The following 45 minute period failed to produce another goal and after a much more subdued second-half the referee's whistle finally signaled a 3-1 win for Kettering, much to the relief of the home supporters following bitter disappointments in their more recent league matches.
