Kettering Town manager Morell Maison made one change to the starting lineup, bringing in Ryan Zico-Black to replace Jermaine Palmer. Stefan Morley was called up to the substitutes bench alongside Chris DiFante, Brett Solkhon and Michael McKenzie.
After a cautious start by both sides, Kettering encountered another slice of fortune on 15 minutes when a corner was turned into the Hucknall net by Chris Timons to put the Poppies 1-0 up.
Despite the momentum afforded by the og, Kettering were unable to capitalise on their advantage and still led by the same narrow margin going into the half-time break.

Kettering manager Morell Maison was forced to make at least one change to replace the injured James Gould as Jamie Paterson was recalled to the starting lineup.
Jermaine Palmer also comes off the bench to replace Zico-Black and Brett Solkhon continues his recovery with a place on the substitutes bench.
A fairly quiet first period as Kettering pushed forward but were unable to find a way past a determined visiting defence and produce that extra bit of magic to provide an opening goal.
The half-time whistle sounded to end a fairly low-key first 45 minutes with the watching supporters hoping for some second-half excitement.

Kettering Town manager Morell Maison was forced to make one change from last weeks victorious starting lineup with the three-match suspension of Anthony Elding beginning today, so Ollie Burgess partnered Neil Midgley up front.
A second change was forced upon Maison shortly after the kick-off when an injury to James Gould led to Jermaine Palmer coming off the susbstitutes bench to replace him.
After a relatively cautious opening period Neil Midgley fired Kettering in front from the penalty spot on 25 minutes after Palmer had been hauled back by Smith who was yellow-carded. With neither side able to add to the scoresheet Kettering took a slender 1-0 advantage into the half-time break.

Poppies win 2-0 at home to Vics

Northwich Victoria 0
Kettering Town host Northwich Victoria boosted by the return of Neil Midgley to partner Anthony Elding up front as Morell Maison take the reigns for his first match at Rockingham Road.
A reasonably close first half-hour with neither side able to make the breakthrough as Kettering gradually settled down, once again under new management, and began to press the visitors goal.
It was Kettering that struck first on 32 minutes when Neil Midgley celebrated his return to put the home side 1-0 up from close-in. Charnock went into the book as the Vics came under further pressure and a minute later strike partner Anthony Elding increased the Poppies lead to 2-0 with a header.

Morell takes charge as Brown departs
Kettering Town v Northwich Victoria
Kettering Town host Northwich Victoria at Rockingham Road on Saturday with Morell Maison stepping into the hotseat following the sacking of manager Kevin Wilson earlier this week.
Maison's task is a particularly tough one, stop the poor run that has seen just one victory in 12 league matches and a slide down to 13th in the Conference North table.
Maison's first act as caretaker manager was to witness the departure of club captain Derek Brown, who is set to join midland rivals Nuneaton Borough.
One early boost for the new boss is the availability of striker Athony Elding. The club has decided to appeal his sending off following his straight red last Saturday in the 3-0 defeat at Hyde Utd.

Maison takes charge as Biley returns
Following the confirmation of Kevin Wilson's departure, Morell Maison takes over as First Team manager until the end of the season, Alan Biley has returned to Rockingham Road as his assistant.
Maison was apparently already on his way to the club to take charge of the recently formed Poppies Reserve side, but now finds himself thrown in at the deep end, as Kettering host champions elect Northwich Victoria this Saturday.
Poppies chairman Imraan Ladak cited "a general lack of belief in the club" by Wilson and decided something had to be done to halt the recent poor run of just one win in 12 league matches.
With 17 matches left, Maison, who was previously in charge at Buckingham Town, still has time to make an impact before the end of the season, when the chairman will decide on a more permanent appointment to the Rockingham Road hotseat.

Midgley and Moore depart Poppies
Neil Midgley has been released by Kettering Town and fellow striker Christian Moore has returned to Burton Albion on loan, in what appears to be the first of several clear-outs at Rockingahm Road.
Kettering Town manager Kevin Wilson has already stated he "had to release Midgley" and shortly afterwards Burton's boss Nigel Clough came in for Christian Moore on a three-month loan, which will carry the Poppies current top scorer up until the end of the season.

Kettering Town - a club in turmoil ?
It was only three months ago that the club and it's supporters were buzzing following the takeover by 'a consortium' led by Imraan Ladak and Paul Gascoigne. Thirty-nine days later and the bubble had already burst, Gascoigne was gone and the supporters were left shell-shocked at the speed of it all.
Kevin Wilson was brought back to the club as manager and given a three year contract, not the sort of move that any supporter with a knowledge of Kettering Town's recent past would have made, but I strongly suspect the chairman was put in a corner, or why else?
Far from steadying the ship and returning the unsettled team back to the business of securing a play-off spot, we're currently in a downward spiral having dropped to 13th spot, amazingly just one win in the last twelve league games. The last two 3-0 defeats even landed us with a minus goal difference.
