Poor Poppies drop into bottom-half of table as miserable run continues with defeat at Worcester
Worcester City 2 Kettering Town 0
Kettering Town's winless streak stretched to nine matches as they crashed 2-0 following two second-half goals from Troy wood and Leon Kelly as Worcester piled on the misery at St George's Lane.
Kettering Town manager Kevin Wilson included Liam Nicell as promised and also brought in Neil Midgley up front. James Gould and Matt Lewis started on the bench alongside the returning Ollie Burgess. A fairly quiet and even first-half with neither side able to break down the other's rearguard and despite several good chances at either end, including a Poppies shot that hit the woodwork, the two teams went into the half-time break still deadlocked at 0-0.
Midway through the second-half and Kettering's misery looked set to continue when Troy Wood broke the deadlock to put the home side 1-0 up on 72 mins.
Worse was to come for the Poppies traveling faithful when Leon Kelly made it 2-0 to Worcester on 87 mins and at the final whistle it was another away-day disaster for struggling Kettering.
