Midgley's late penalty rescues Poppies at Knitters
Hinckley Utd 1 Kettering Town 1
Kettering Town make the short trip to Hinckley on Monday for their first match of the New Year and will be looking to halt the poor run of form which has seen them slip to 9th spot in the table and without a league win in seven matches.
With the return from suspension of goalkeeper Mark Osborn, there are three changes from their last match against Hinckley as Derek Brown replaces Craig McIlwain and Hugh MacAuley comes in for Ollie Burgess. A fairly even first-half was split by the only goal so far. Jermaine Palmer, who was given a starting place after coming off the bench to score against the Poppies on Boxing Day, beat Osborn on 35 minutes to put the home side 1-0 up at the break.
Kettering battled to get back on level terms in the second-half and it finally took a penalty from substitute Neil Midgley to even the scores at 1-1 on 86 mins.
Another draw for Kettering makes it now eight league matches without a win and although they moved up one place to 8th, they remain in the top-ten solely on goal difference.
