Droylsden stumble, Harrogate march on

In the two Tuesday night Conference North matches concerning the play-off contenders there were mixed fortunes for those in the chasing pack, which of course includes Kettering Town.

Harrogate Town managed a narrow 1-0 victory over Stalybridge Celtic thanks to Marc Smith's goal on 22 minutes and the win consolidates their 4th spot in the table.

Droylsden came unstuck at struggling Worksop Town, going down 3-2 after taking a first minute lead through Terry Fearns. It lasted just 9 minutes when Mark Wilson equlaised and then the home side took the lead through Kevin Davies on 26 minutes.

Droylsden pulled back level on 49 minutes thanks to Gareth Morris, but a 77th minute penalty fired home by Tony Crane gave Worksop a narrow 3-2 victory.
