It’s back to the bread and butter of the league campaign this Saturday as Kettering Town travel to nearby St Neots Town hoping to pick up where they left off last Saturday with a victory and remain top of the league table.

The match gets underway at a very windy St Neots and an early strike from distance by Kelly-Evans is easily held by Reynolds in the home goal. Richens finds himself all alone in the area with a clear sight of goal but his scuffed effort goes the wrong side of the upright with the keeper stranded. At the other end Russel fires just wide after a mix-up in the Poppies defence.

It’s a bright and sunny day for National Non-League day but so far the two teams have struggled to cope with the blustery wind. White stretches to tip a good Williams strike over the crossbar for a corner to the home side which the Poppies defence clears. It’s a little bit scrappy at the moment with neither side really making use of the windy conditions.

Hoenes effort a rare one but wide of the target and at the other end Williams couldn’t connect cleanly and fires wide of the target. Kelly turns and shoots but it saved by Reynolds. Michael Richens is shown the yellow card for a foul. Hoenes almost breaks clear byt Reynolds comes out to safely collect. No goals at the break.
