It was certainly a disappointing result, losing at home to Tiverton and virtually torpedoed Kettering Town‘s chances of getting home advantage in the play-offs as they host Farnborough to finish off their regular season fixtures this Saturday. With one eye on Wednesday’s play-off semi-final it’s just a question of who they will face and more than likely have to travel in the process.

A strong finish and a hat-trick for Matty Stevens saw the Poppies run out 6-2 winners despite going a goal down after just 7 minutes. A frenetic spell to start the second-half saw Kettering score four times in 8 minutes to put the game beyond doubt. However, King’s Lynn’s 3-1 away win and Slough’s narrow win at home means that the Poppies will finish in 4th spot and play away at Slough Town in one of Wednesday’s Semi-Finals. The other sees runner-up King’s Lynn at home to 5th placed Weymouth.
