Goal!GOAL: A great start for the Poppies, playing in their white away strip, when a free kick from Marshall is played into the area and up pops Brett Solkhon to head across the goal and into the net. Celebrations from the players and supporters alike as Kettering take an early lead.

Tiverton almost back on level terms but the header goes wide of the target and shortly afterwards a sliced effort could easily have been the equaliser for the home side as Poppies live dangerously with their narrow 1-0 lead looking a little frail right now. Somehow they manage to make it into the dressing rooms for the half-time break still in front and can possibly build on their lead in the second-half.

Half-time:   Tiverton Town 0   Kettering Town 1

Goal!GOAL: Kettering have weathered a bit of a storm from the home side since the restart but take a 2-0 lead shortly after the hour mark when Hoenes lays the ball into the feet of Matty Stevens who cuts inside his marker and smashes it into the top corner of the net. Clinical finishing again from Stevens who is certainly in good form at the moment.

Shortly afterwards the home side are reduced to ten men when a red card is shown to the home number five for swinging an attempted punch after a late tackle and a scuffle also sees a Tiverton substitute booked. A flurry of activity from the home side after Kettering had been on top for a spell. Thomas booked for simulation, Hoenes has his effort saved.

Goal!GOAL: That should’ve been 3-0 as Howe was sent racing clear but fails to beat the keeper. Hoenes runs into the box and is brought down, penalty to the Poppies. A conversion here should safely wrap up the points for Kettering. It’s Brett Solkhon to take and he makes no mistake from the spot. It’s 3-0 to Kettering and game over.

There is the full time whistle. Another solid win for Kettering and a good night for the travelling supporters who see their team win away from home by a three-goal margin. Next up for Poppies is an away trip to Chesham Utd on Saturday.
